Después de una exitosa temporada en 1938, el monoplaza W154 de Mercedes recibió una nueva carrocería para batir varias plusmarcas de velocidad junto al piloto Rudolf Caracciola. Entre Enero y Febrero de 1939, este vehículo totalmente carenado y aligerado estableció dentro de su categoría varias marcas de aceleración en carretera abierta (1000 mts y 1 milla). El fabricante Best Of Show es responsable de esta espléndida reproducción en escala 1/43.
