This aerodynamic roadster was the first prototype built of the Porsche 356 line. Ferry Porsche designed the vehicle in 1948 around a mid-engine layout and Volkswagen mechanics (it is therefore the heir to the work led by his father Ferdinand Porsche). Also Erwin Komenda was responsible for the aluminium bodywork, which was innovative for its unified design. As the seed of the 356 series, this sports car represents Porsche’s beginnings as a manufacturer of passenger cars and Autoart presents an accurate replica of this 356/1, a unique piece that resides in the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart.
