Derived from the W140 saloon, this coupé was launched in 1992 under the ‘600 SEC’ nameplate, referring to the 6-litre V12 engine that powered it. This was a new engine for Mercedes that would enjoy a successful career. In 1996, these luxury coupés would go on to have their own class (CL class).
